A power flush needs to be performed by trained plumbers and we ensure that there is no mess created throughout the process. The power flush machine usually connects to your central heating system by disconnecting a radiator and entering the system at that point, however unlike many of our competitors we also have tools and adaptors that enable us connect at the boiler without removing radiators or cutting in to the system and will undertake to do that where possible.
We seal off all the radiators on your central heating system using the radiator valves, and then open one radiator at a time and circulate fresh water with sludge removing chemical through. The water and chemical are circulated through the system and radiator in both directions over time and the radiator is vibrated at high frequency to dislodge the sludge within. Once the water runs clear that radiator is sealed off and the next radiator is opened, and the process continues until all radiators have been power flushed and the water runs clear throughout the entire system.
The power flush machine circulates water through your central heating system at high velocity, but at low pressure so this avoids creating any unnecessary leaks on your system. Once the sludge removal process has completed a neutraliser is added and we use a litmus test to ensure the removal chemical has been neutralised. We then add a rust inhibitor to provide your system with ongoing protection.
After the power flush has been completed, the power flush machine is disconnected from your system, and we place stickers on your boiler detailing the chemicals that have been used on your system.
We are also able to discreetly connect a MagnaClean filter to your central heating system. A MagnaClean filter will help prevent future build up of sludge and significantly increase the length of time required until your system's next power flush.
